Biography
Ms. Rains is an enthusiastic part of the St. Matthew’s 4th Grade team. She began her career in education in 2018 and has spent time teaching 3rd grade, 8th grade Language Arts, and joined Saint Matthew’s 4th grade team in 2022. One of Ms. Rains’ most basic goals as a teacher is to instill a passion for learning in her students. She knows that every child has the potential to succeed and be his or her best self. With that, she teaches in hopes that her students realize that in themselves, through hard work and GRIT.
Ms. Rains received her B.A. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Teaching & Learning at CSUCI, and immediately after, began a dual graduate program at UCSB where she earned her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters of Education. A lifelong learner, she is currently going to school to receive her Administrative Service Credential from USC.
Ms. Rains was born and raised in Ojai, California, a small tight-knit community much like the Palisades. It is because of her beautiful hometown and So-Cal upbringing that she developed a love for sunshine and the outdoors. She is an exercise enthusiast and enjoys cooking, hiking, waterskiing, and going to the beach. She also loves spending time with her Golden Retriever pup and fiancé (keep your eye out and you may even see them walking through the Village!)
She is very excited about educating the future generation and providing her students with knowledge and skills that will allow them access to so many wonderful opportunities in life.
