Middle School Curriculum

Our Middle School program is fully departmentalized with students traveling from teacher to teacher for all of their subjects. Classes meet on an 8-day rotating schedule for 70 minutes each. Within this structure, teachers create opportunities to collaborate and reinforce learning across subject areas and in our Makerspace. Each grade level focuses on an overarching theme for the year that contextualizes and deepens students’ understanding of the curriculum. Students in Grades 5-8 are assigned an advisor who supports academic progress and social and emotional learning. We offer two integrated signature programs: STAR, which allows students to study, analyze, and perform a seminal Shakespeare play; and DEEP, which combines math, science, and technology in a unique and immersive way through scuba diving.
