Early Childhood
Celebrating Childhood
Childhood is a season of wonder, discovery, and joy. At St. Matthew’s, we believe it should be celebrated every day. Our Early Childhood program is designed to honor the unique gifts of each child by providing a nurturing environment where they can learn, explore, play, and grow at their own pace. We believe that meaningful academics and purposeful play are equally essential, working together to build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Through our Little Falcons, Preschool, and Pre-Kindergarten programs, we thoughtfully cultivate every aspect of a child’s development, cognitive, physical, social-emotional, linguistic, and spiritual, preparing them not only for Kindergarten, but for a lifetime of curiosity, compassion, and success.
Curriculum
Early Childhood students are exposed to foundational skills in literacy, number sense, scientific principles, and social sciences. Our Little Falcons, Preschool and Pre-K students attend Library and Chapel once a week. In Preschool and Pre-K, our students attend specialist classes in PE and Music in addition to Library and Chapel. Each class is exposed to the Spanish language through songs, stories and dialogue in the classroom by our wonderful bi-lingual teachers.
Our Early Childhood developmental philosophy is rooted in the following principles:
1. Child-Centered Learning
2. Play-Based Approach
3. Academics
4. Social and Emotional Development
5. Parent Partnership

We couldn't be happier - having looked at several other schools, St. Matthew’s was the only one where we got that special feeling where we knew this was where we belonged. We are so happy for our child to start their journey at St. Matthew’s.
